01 INSPECTION
Portable extinguishers require periodic maintenance of six month intervals. MATSON & CO (NIGERIA) LIMITED can provide you with a complete inspection program as we will make recommendations to ensure your facility is protected with the appropriate fire extinguishers.
Any necessary repairs or recharges can be done onsite. All these repairs are done using MATSON & CO (NIGERIA) LIMITED technicians (without sub contracting). We do not depend on another company for our expertise as we service and repair your fire extinguishers; this gives us better control over the quality of service we provide.

02 TRAINING & USE
Employee training in the use of fire extinguishers should be an important part of any fire safety program. At MATSON & CO (NIGERIA) LIMITED we offer a complete and detailed employee training course in the use of all types of extinguishers.
In regards to the use of extinguishers, its natural for a person to use the extinguisher located nearest to a fire, this makes it essential for correct type and size to be placed in close proximity to a potential hazard.
The most current issue of NFPA-10 should be consulted for minimum recommended extinguisher types. All fire extinguisher nameplates have either the letter or picture symbols on them. Anyone who might be expected to use a fire extinguisher should be familiar with the letter or picture symbols identifying the type(s) of fire on which it may be used.
03 MAINTENANCE
Fire extinguishers shall be subject to maintenance at intervals of twice within a year. This maintenance should be done at the same time as HYDROSTATIC testing or when specifically indicated by an inspection.
